Crockpot Chicken and Potatoes

Hello! Sorry it’s been so long… I have been so busy and haven’t had the time to post. 😦 Recently I made crockpot chicken and potatoes… Sort of a cross between an Italian and Mexican style meal. How it became this way? I have no clue but it tastes really good.

It’s difficult to do picture step by step when you just stick it in there and stir it occasionally but I attempted.

Cookie Bars

Hello everyone! How has your weekend been? My weekend is flying by. Yesterday my family asked me to make dessert because we were having company over, so I decided on cookie bars. I could have sworn it was only 12 when I had tied my TARDIS apron and was ready to bake them but no… It was already 3. Do I just take random naps and not remember them? It’s starting to seem that way…

Okay. Back to the recipe… This recipe is a simple sugar cookie recipe turned into cookie bars. The recipe is not quite mine, I got it from Pillsbury and slightly altered it. Original recipe can be found here.

Accidental Banana Bread

Honestly, I wasn’t trying to make banana bread. It just kind of happened. It was pretty late at night (or I perhaps should say it was pretty early in the morning) and I decided it would be brilliant to use that nearly rotten banana to make a banana treat. So I took out my ingredients and set to work, hoping to make up my own recipe for banana blondies. So did not work. Looking back, I can see exactly why it didn’t work… but I was confused when it was nearing 2 or 3 am and I pulled out a pan of banana bread rather than those banana blondies my taste buds had been itching to try. All well. I may have created my own delicious banana bread in my half awake state… Already, it’s nearly gone and it’s been less then a day.

Vegetarian Shepard’s Pie

I don’t believe I ever quite thought about how much I enjoy cooking with potatoes. There is just so much you can do with them. One potato- based meal I’ve been dying to attempt is Shepard’s pie…And that is what has gotten me here. As always, I looked up quite a few recipes, got the idea of it and just went for it. This is a vegetarian version of Shepard’s pie, but I’m sure I’ll eventually make a meat version and post it on here. Until then, please enjoy this veggie-rich meal.

Cheesy Potato Bake

Hello! How is everyone today? I’d love to hear how your day was. 🙂

Tonight was the perfect opportunity to finally post a main meal, my family’s dinner tonight. So I searched Pinterest for inspiration and found it really wasn’t helping as I continued to get distracted (ooh! look a new doctor who joke…) and finally was about to give up when I realized we had a hell of a lot of extra random potatoes lying around in our kitchen. What better to make then some sort of potato experimental casserole? Can’t be too bad…

Bechamel White Sauce

Hello! Oh my, its been an entire day since I posted… :O Last night I made dinner for my family and used this basic sauce as a base for a potato bake I will be posting later. I have used this recipe in a variety of recipes and it has always worked out. Hopefully you get as much use from it as I do.

As for the lack of pictures,I got the most pictures I could at the best quality I could but because it cooks quickly and you are stirring or adding most of the time, it was difficult to get any. Sorry I could not get any more, but hopefully this will be just fine.

Bechamel sauce is really a plain white sauce just waiting for flavor. It is super simple to make and done in minutes to be put on pasta, be baked into something like this potato bake (will be posted soon) or drizzled on a meal. No matter what you use it on, it will always be the same base.

Egg-less Cookie Dough

Happy Easter(ok… it’s a bit late)! To celebrate, I have created a recipe for homemade cookie dough and even made truffles. These are super easy and my first no-bake recipe. My favorite part of these are how easy they are to make them a different type of cookie dough by just using this cookie dough ‘base’ recipe. They will be

This recipe has the full-fat goodness of cookie dough. Of course, there are quite a few substitutes you could do to make it slightly healthier.

Bunny Masks

Today I am posting my second craft… Easter bunny masks. I suppose they could be worn anytime but it just so happens that tomorrow is Easter! 🙂 Whether or not you celebrate Jesus’s resurrection or the candy and egg traditions that have come to be, hopefully you can find some enjoyment out of these masks. The bunny masks are super easy and fun for kids to help you make.

All of the materials you likely have on hand. You’ll need at least one paper plate, some crayons, a pair of scissors, a tapestry needle with some thread of any color, and some glue (I like Elmer’s but any will work).

Crispy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I am still continuously cooking… I may or may not have made cookies despite it being Passover and I’m not allowed to eat anything that rises… Unfortunately, I’m not very good at remembering not to eat bread and baked goods… So of course, I made cookies. These cookies are just how I like them, nice and crispy or warm and soft when they are straight out of the oven. My favorite part is the fact you can always play around with them. Add mini chocolate chips… Or swipe a little bit of nutella in the batter and some white chocolate chips and you have chocolate cookies with white chocolate chips. There are endless ideas and you already have a base recipe. Assuming you enjoy crispy cookies as much as I do… If not, I will post a recipe for chewy cookies some other day. For now, we shall enjoy the crunchy goodness of this sugary treat.
