It’s been ages since I last posted… School just got out and I feel like I’m more busy nowwith al the stuff I’m doing to occupy myself then when I was filled to the brim withstuff I needed to do. Anyhow, I have had every opportunity to cook, and I have. The other night I made sausage meatloaf with pork sausage being the only meat in the meatloaf. That translates into a long cooking time but a delicious result.
Hello! Sorry it’s been so long… I have been so busy and haven’t had the time to post. 😦 Recently I made crockpot chicken and potatoes… Sort of a cross between an Italian and Mexican style meal. How it became this way? I have no clue but it tastes really good.
It’s difficult to do picture step by step when you just stick it in there and stir it occasionally but I attempted.
I don’t believe I ever quite thought about how much I enjoy cooking with potatoes. There is just so much you can do with them. One potato- based meal I’ve been dying to attempt is Shepard’s pie…And that is what has gotten me here. As always, I looked up quite a few recipes,got the idea of it and just went for it. This is a vegetarian version of Shepard’s pie, but I’m sure I’ll eventually make a meat version and post it on here. Until then, please enjoy this veggie-rich meal.

Tonight was the perfect opportunity to finally post a main meal, my family’s dinner tonight. So I searched Pinterest for inspiration and found it really wasn’t helping as I continued to get distracted (ooh! look a new doctor who joke…) and finally was about to give up when I realized we had a hell of a lot of extra random potatoes lying around in our kitchen. What better to make then some sort of potato experimental casserole? Can’t be too bad…
Hello! Oh my, its been an entire day since I posted… :O Last night I made dinner for my family and used this basic sauce as a base for a potato bake I will be posting later. I have used this recipe in a variety of recipes and it has always worked out. Hopefully you get as much use from it as I do.
As for the lack of pictures,I got the most pictures I could at the best quality I could but because it cooks quickly and you are stirring or adding most of the time, it was difficult to get any. Sorry I could not get any more, but hopefully this will be just fine.
Bechamel sauce is really a plain white sauce just waiting for flavor. It is super simple to make and done in minutes to be put on pasta, be baked into something like this potato bake (will be posted soon) or drizzled on a meal. No matter what you use it on, it will always be the same base.
